As you may be aware, as part of the new welfare bill set out by the coalition Government Crisis Loans came to an end on March 31st 2013, however it is still possble to apply for and be awarded a Budgeting loan as they were not made from the discretionary social fund, and as such were not effected by the recent changes.

Budgeting loans WILL be affected when Universal Credit is the only benefit that people are able to apply for, and this is schedulled to happen in stages with new claims, then mobing on to converting existing claims by 2017, until then applications for a loan can still be made and will be accepted in the same way they are now, for the majority of applicants
