The Budgeting advance telephone number

The Budgeting advance telephone number is yet to be advertised, however we expect that the telephone number will be a free phone 0800 contact number as most DWP emergency service contact numbers are handled this way.

As soon as a telephone number has been decided it will be published on this page.

***UPDATE! 26/04/2013***

IF YOU:

  • You are awaiting an award of benefit from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and there is a delay and you have no money. In these circumstances you can apply for a short term benefit advance which was called a benefit alignment payment. To do this you need to contact the DWP on 0845 608 8637 and select the option for the benefit you are waiting for. You must tell the DWP that you require a short term benefit advance not a crisis loan.

  • You require a budgeting loan or budgeting advance.? If so, please contact the DWP on 0845 603 6967. A budgeting loan will help to pay for essential things like rent, furniture, clothes or hire purchase debts and the smallest amount you can borrow is ?100.

As with other DWP loans, the application process will be instantiated by a telephone call or by a application downloaded and sent into the DWP. Checking up on the progress of your application can be done by telephone however it is likely that new loan applications will take several days to be logged and acknowledged by the DWP.

  • Do you know of any landline numbers that aren’t 0845? It costs a fortune holding on while you wait for someone to answer your call. There were a few on the saynoto0870 but they don’t seem to work anymore!

  • i live in bolton, greater manchester and i dont know where to send my budgeting loan application form. I printed it out online and filled it all in but there is no address to send it to. my local job centre said they wont take it off me. can you please tell me the address its really urgent. thanks

  • Hi, I need a Short Term Benefit Loan for the purpose of covering travelling expenses to a Teaching Training Course. I haven;t been and am not intending to be on any type of benefit (always working and managing the hard times), but as the Course has started all of a sudden, I find it difficult to travel between Manchester and London for the next 7 days. I didn’t have time to plan for it. Should my request by accepted, I would be able to pay it back weekly, from my income. Please contact me as soon as possible, the starting date is 8-th of January, thank you!
